An Anti-Bullying Policy is an integral part of the Whole School Behaviour Policy.
Although bullying behaviour comes within the basic behaviour management framework, because of its covert nature, implementation of a further system needs to be instigated so that children feel safe and secure.
An ethos needs to be created that does not tolerate the oppression of one person by another. This is necessary so that Lindsworth can fulfil its Mission Statement.

Bullying Behaviour...

"... maybe verbal, physical or psychological in nature ."
"... maybe in the form of a socially acceptable behaviour, as in a highly competitive approach to academic, sporting or social success, which by intent, makes others feel inferior or causes distress ..."
"... is necessarily a repetitive attack which causes distress not only at the time of each attack, but also by the threat of future attacks."
"... is characterised by the dominance of the powerful over the powerless in whatever context".
Besag V. 1989.
